Another Mid-West National is in the books and it was another great weekend for Team ActionBMX.net! Mitch Johnson continued his quest for a NAG plate in 16 Cruiser, crushing on Friday night and scoring a pair of fours on the weekend. G-Ray climbed back into NAG contention with a strong 5 and a so-so 7, while R-Nate grabbed a 3rd in Friday 14 Cruiser and made 14x semis on Sunday. The other Nate manualled his way into Saturday 14X semis but left a little skin on the track in Sunday's second round.
Team newcomer, Travis Zerwas, never fully recovered from the nightmare, detour-filled trip through washed out cheddar land and had to settle for a cheerleading role in 17I.
Up next are the Star of the North Games in Isanti, along with State Championship qualifier round 2. Next week gets really busy witht the Land o' Lakes Nats also making their way to Isanti.
Action owner Gary Walton presents Amsoil/RedBull/Air Force's DJ Eckstrom
with an oversized version of his recent Sno-X cover.
Thursday's Open House was a huge hit, with 11 of the top names of snocross stopping in for a two-hour autograph session. Several hundred race fans made there way through the shop for free autographs and pizza. Our parent company, Action Graphics is heavily involved in the winter wars of snocross.
Podium Streak Contiues In Kearney
The team scored their second consecutive podium last weekend with a second overall on day one of the Cornhusker Nationals. Leading the way were Ashlynn Strandberg and Devan Bracht scoring wins in 6 girls and 14 Inter. All of the riders made it out of their motos at least once during the weekend and several had top 5 finishes.
Nate Walton had a third in 14 Cruiser on Friday night, in only his second week on a big wheel bike. Mitch Johnson continued his impressive run in 16 cruiser with a Friday night win and a pair of 4s on the weekend. Our newest rider, Jon Ponting, really put his name on the map with 2 main event appearances in a strong field of 16 X. Senior member Gary Walton checked in with a 3 and 4 in 41-45 Cruiser but still hasn't figured out the secret to the pesky second straight doubles that have haunted him on two trips to Kearney.
Caity Bug Wilson had a tough class of 13 girls and is eagerly awaiting some classmate birthdays in the next few weeks. For a girl who doesn't say a whole lot, Caity's iTunes list speaks volumes with a nice mix of old school metal and modern head-bangers that would be welcome on any good road trip.
Saturday's results were celebrated with a team pizza party at Old Chicago in what is hopefully the first of many team outings.
Rehbein's Triple Header Blowout
Last weekend's single, double, triple at The Barn was one for the books. Record moto counts and some outstanding racing went down on all three days. Besides the normal Minnesota Militia, there were strong groups from Packer land as well as some fast SoDakers.
New team member Jeremy Koffi pulled the race of the year in 12X. After popping a chain at the bottom of the starting hill, The Jet immediately began pumping the entire lap and a half on the tight indoor course. Unbelievably, he passed two riders in the process and finished with a fourth overall.
NEW PRODUCT
If you were on hand last weekend, you may have had a chance to see the team's hot new rim strip decals. Custom printed with team sponsors, the rim strips are now available with your own team name or logo. Call for details.
